IP Lookup

Geolocation, ISP, ASN and network flags for any public IP address.

An IP address lookup reveals the public information attached to any IPv4 or IPv6 address: geolocation (country, region and city), the ISP and organization behind it, the ASN, timezone, and network flags such as proxy/VPN, hosting or mobile-carrier detection. Our free tool queries live IP intelligence databases and returns results in under a second — no account, no API key, no signup required.

To check your own IP address location, just click the “Check my IP” button above — the tool detects your public IP automatically and shows where the internet thinks you are. To look up any other address, paste it into the box (for example 8.8.8.8) and hit “Look up”. Developers can also call the same lookup through our public API endpoint.

If you buy or run proxies, checking the exit IP location is essential, not optional. Geo-targeted web scraping, ad verification and multi-account management all depend on the exit node actually being where the provider claims it is. A ten-second lookup before you put a proxy into production saves hours of debugging blocked requests, wrong-language pages and failed geo checks later.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my IP address location?

Click the “Check my IP” button on this page. The tool detects your public IP address automatically and shows its geolocation — country, region, city — along with your ISP, ASN and timezone. No signup or download is needed.

What information does an IP address lookup show?

A lookup returns geolocation (country, region, city, coordinates), network data (ISP, organization, ASN, timezone) and risk flags indicating whether the IP belongs to a proxy, VPN, hosting/datacenter range or mobile carrier.

Why does my IP location differ from my actual location?

The most common reason is that you are behind a VPN or proxy — websites then see the exit server's location, not yours. Smaller mismatches can also come from ISP routing or outdated entries in geolocation databases, which are refreshed continuously.

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country-level geolocation is typically over 95% accurate. City-level accuracy varies by provider and region — it is reliable for geo-targeting decisions like choosing a proxy location, but not precise enough to pinpoint a street address.
