Proxy Tester

Test any HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy — connectivity, latency and real exit IP.

We only ever request a fixed IP-echo endpoint through your proxy — your credentials never touch any other site.

A proxy is only as good as its last successful request. Our free proxy tester checks any HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxy for the three things that actually matter: can it connect at all, how fast does it respond, and what exit IP address does the target website really see. The test runs through our own infrastructure, so the result reflects real-world behavior — not just a local socket check.

Paste your proxy in ip:port or username:password@ip:port format, choose the protocol, and hit “Test”. Within seconds you get a pass/fail verdict, measured latency in milliseconds, and the detected exit IP with its geolocation. If the exit IP or country doesn't match what your provider promised, you have proof to take back to them.

Always test proxies before putting them into production — and ideally before paying for them. Latency directly determines crawl speed: the difference between a 300 ms and a 3 s proxy is a 10x slower scrape. A mismatched exit IP silently breaks geo-targeting, and dead proxies burn through your budget with zero results. Make this check part of your routine for every new proxy batch.

Frequently asked questions

How do I test if my proxy is working?

Enter your proxy as ip:port or username:password@ip:port, select HTTP or SOCKS5, and run the test above. A working proxy returns a successful connection with its latency and the exit IP that websites will see.

What is a good proxy response time?

Under 1 second is excellent for most scraping and automation work. 1–3 seconds is usable but will slow down large crawls. Consistently above 3 seconds means the proxy is overloaded or badly routed — ask your provider for a replacement.

Why is my exit IP different from the proxy IP I was given?

With rotating or backconnect proxies you connect to a gateway, and the actual exit IP is assigned per session — so a different exit IP is normal. With a dedicated static proxy, a mismatch means the provider misconfigured your order.

Should I use HTTP or SOCKS5 proxies?

SOCKS5 is more versatile: it handles any TCP/UDP traffic and works with more tools. HTTP(S) proxies are fine for plain web scraping and are sometimes faster. When in doubt, test both with the tool above and compare latency.

Proxies failing the test?

IPStation proxies average under 800 ms response time with 99.9% uptime. Try 200 MB free — no credit card required.
